In this workshop, participants shared examples of empathy and engaged in scenarios to enhance responses when supporting youth and adult survivors. We explored Rogerian concepts and how meeting survivors “where they are at” requires active listening and controlled empathy. Highlights include trauma-informed approaches, do’s, and don'ts, providing emotional and physical safety, and exploring your bias and expectations in your service.
