Advocating for LGBTQ Youth (DEI103)

LGBTQ youth experience stigma and social isolation which often leads to higher risk factors for physical and emotional abuse, harassment, bullying, family rejection, and homelessness. This workshop offered tips and strategies for advocates that can improve the work we do with LGBTQ youth. It included a review of basic LGBTQ terminology and promotes working with LGBTQ youth through the lens of being a healthy, functioning LGBTQ individual. Resources to assist advocates working with LGBTQ were also discussed.
